Happy Diwali- 2008.

Wish you a Happy and Prosperous Diwali.

The picture attached here is a Sky-Lamp put up in our house in Calgary. It feels good when we put on the lamp. It gives us a feeling of Diwali.

We had an Diwali Get together last Friday. Around 17 families and few bachelors were part of it. About 70 people celebrated Diwali. We shall come back on this with some more inputs sometime in this week. Khatri family had invited their friends on Diwali Faral. It was also a good Diwali evening.

It is nice to see this akashkandil and it brings the memories of childhood and sweets, crackers etc.

Definitely Vikas, the Aakashkandil is making difference. It takes us back to lanes of our memories.
Diwali here in Canada is equivalent to zero. Having an Aakashkandil lit-up everyday makes us feel somewhat close to Diwali back in India.
Thanks to Sapana’s parents who brought this Aakashkandil for us from Mumbai. It’s making difference. I am actually struggling to explain how it is making difference….. I will just say it makes us feel good from inside.
Try sometime in future and put up an Aakashkandil in your house…. You will feel what I want to tell you!!

Thanks Chetna for your comments.
Yes, Diwali means a lot.. even for those outside/ abroad. In fact it is more sought after event and most missed abroad.
I was talking to another person from India about Diwali and our conclusion was 'we people here miss our relatives who are back in India and our relatives miss us, on the occasion of Diwali'. Well that's the attachment to this celebration.
