The Great Escape.

Summer this year was very short. In initial months the winter was extended right into summer and then followed by 1 in 100 years of flooding. While we were afraid of loosing summer competely this year, surprisingly we got few days of sun to enjoy. This year we visited Kelowna in British Columbia (BC). The city brought funfilled three days and thrill. We did watersports like, parasailing and jet boating and visited worldclass winery. Three- Running Spree

Pushkar turned three, last month (Feb). A year passed by since my last post. One can imagine how busy and occupied Pushkar must have kept us, during this time. Pushkar celebrated his 3rd birthday with his kinder garden friends at school. Also we celebrated his birthday at home too. The day was celebrated with Chetana-Santosh and family (Shilpa's sister) and Sonali-Sanika -the neighbours & friends. (Photography by Sonali.) Celebration was continued to Tomy-K-Play (kids indoor play area) even next week.
Since Pushkar is fond of Mickey Mouse, he had a special cake oredered, having Mickey and Minie on it. Party caps had Mickey's pictures too. This year we gifted him collection of 172 DVDs of Walt Disney Series. ("172". Hmmm. Wow. I would have loved to have it in my childhood.) We are planning to play thosed DVDs during long journey, in our vehicle. This will keep him entertained during the journey. That a 'plan'.
Looking forward enjoying with him his fourth year.

Two- The Jump Start.

Pushkar turned two this month. It was a celebration call for near and dear ones. The birth day was celebrated in our new home and the developed basement was very useful for this event. Pushkar celebrated his b'day with other kids. Initially we were worried for him being too young to celebrate birthday, as younger children has their own priorities and might not indulge the way we expect. From that perspective Pushkar and other kids enjoyed the event a lot. Musical chair added fun for kids as well for parents. Thanks to all for visiting our place and your good wishes for Pushkar.

Chitale Bandhu in Canada!

I saw Chitale Bandhu today! Not kidding. I spotted Chitale Bandhu in the aisles of Apna Punjab, the Indian grocery store in Calgary. You won't believe, I looked at it again and again. It was Chitale Bandhu and no body else. Spring rolls of Chitale Bandhu (Bakarwadi)! I wondered, I wondered again!! I got excited. I immediately picked up one packet for trial.

Lot of thoughts passed my mind from time I saw Chitale Bandhu till I baked the Bakarwadi in oven and had it. Chitale Bandhu used to say 'we do not have any branch, anywhere'... and hence was critically criticised from everywhere. Chitale Bandhu is looked as pride of marathi maanus... Punekar.... Maharashtrian. I definietly felt proud to see them here in Calgary, Canada.

It's always been Haldiram everywhere and I used to miss Pune fame Chitale Bandhu and their Bakarwadi. Best wishes for Chitale bandhu's successful stay in Canada.

Back To Past Again

I am probably stuck to Year End 2008. And why not? We had a very memorable year ending event. And had memorable performances. I have already posted few performances before. Here are another three best performances for you. Do enjoy and do not forget to post your comment after you watch.

Reviving The Past.

It was a great celebration on Year Ending 2008. Group of 32 families enjoyed the eve. The event was shot with three cameras, placed at strategic locations, to make it more professional and more memorable. And that's where the complication began as far as compiling and editing of videos are concerned. The editing and mixing of three cameras requires high end software and hardware apart from, lot of dedicated, long hours on PC. I had the responsibility to deliver the output. I could not spare time in year 2009 and part of year 2010 to work on the videos. However finally I could devote my time to this task and now the DVDs are ready and will be on shelves soon :-) (joking)... DVDs are ready for distribution to participants. Here is just a glimpse of the Title video. I am sure the DVDs are made to every-body's interest. Take a look at the video below.

Naming Ceremony

Naming ceremony is one of the important 'Sanskar's in Hindu culture. A selection of auspicious day and time is hence very important. We selected Sunday, 21st March 2010 for Naming Ceremony of our newborn. And auspicious time was after 07:00pm. Around 30 families were invited on the occasion.... With extremely helping friends, the programme was handled very smoothly and nicely.

To declare....the name of our baby is Pushkar; meaning Blue Lotus- Birth place of lord Brahma.

The letter 'P' and in particular 'Pu' was suggested to be initial letter of his name by an Astrologer based on his date and time of birth. We, AbhiShilpa, chose the name Pushkar!!!
Comments from friends were like...... 'Keep your next baby's name to be Pulkar (Pull-kar)'...... another friend commented like.... 'You gotta a Project Manager son!!!!...... as Project manager always keep 'pushing' people....!!!!' and so on.

Our Baby.

Wednesday 03rd Feb 2010 brought a sunshine in our life. We, AbhiShilpa, blessed with a baby boy on this day. Both Shilpa and baby are doing well. Baby is looking for blessings from all of you...

Baby Shower (Dohale Jevan)

Life is a mixture of joy and sorrows. After a recession of 2009 we, AbhiShipa, had a good news to share. Shilpa was carrying and a bundle of joy was waiting to arrive in this world.
